Restoration Of Heritage Memorial Hall In Grampound Road
The Sir Robert Harvey Memorial Hall is delighted to announce that funding has been secured for the Hall which will allow us to make substantial renovations and improvements.
The majority of this funding (£39k) has been allocated from Cornwall Council’s Community Levelling Up Grants Programme, part of the Good Growth Programme, which is delivering the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly; while Low Carbon Ladock have also made a significant donation of £12k as match funding for this project. Low Carbon Ladock is a local social enterprise that recycles its feed-in-tariff revenue towards low carbon living projects in the Parish and also upgrades to community facilities.
Over the next 6 months the project will see a restoration of the Crittall windows and oak doors on this Grade 2 listed building, with the installation of secondary glazing, to save energy and reduce the building’s carbon footprint. Energy savings should also be achieved with the fitting of energy efficient radiators to the smaller Meeting Room, allowing this room to be heated independently of the central heating.
There will be redecoration of the inner lobby and toilet area and improved storage for some new tables and chairs in the modified Store Room.
We are getting more technologically savvy with the development of a website with online booking facility and installing Wi-fi to encourage easier bookings and increased use.
